Why Does the UK have Zero Autumn Bank Holidays?

Most are in winter and spring, but why?

Yesterday, Monday 29th August was the Summer Bank Holiday (public holidays to the US) in England & Wales. It’s the last Bank Holiday before Christmas — something that always surprises me to think about it as I both look forward to Christmas and dread the SAD that comes with retreating daylight and clocks going back.
