We Childfree Men Are All Seth Rogen
We too are no longer willing to tolerate your ignorance and judgement
Another week and another full set of hurt feelings cards from parents who seem permanently angry about the existence of childfree people. Now it’s Seth Rogen’s turn to get shit for claiming to be happy without children.
He was blunt and straightforward about his reasons which included (among other things) how not having kids has contributed greatly to his success. Rogen and wife Lauren Miller feel that deciding against having children gives them more time to work on their projects and on themselves.
Rogen’s positive expression of his life as a childfree man flies in the face of the narrative that we are the “commitmentphobic manchild” trope that so many parents desperately want to believe about us.
Like so many other tropes about entire demographics, it is so rarely true.
Rogen’s frank comments show something else though… that we’re no longer willing to put up with it.
We will no longer smile, nod, and move on.
We will no longer hold our tongues in giving offence because you seem both unwilling and unable to hold yours.
